Vergennes Chapter FFA Members Win Honors At Vermont Convention Members of the Vergennes Chapter of FFA won many honors at the State FFA Convention held in Colchester, May 24 & 25, 2006. Most will advance to national competitions this fall. Travis Simpson won the State Star Green Mountain Degree in Agricultural Placement for which he received a plaque and $300 award. This award is sponsored by Dupont Company; USDA Farm Service Agency as a special project of the National FFA Foundation. Travis also won $250 and plaque for winning the State Floriculture Placement Award. Both of these awards will be competing on the national level. He is the kind of hands-on-pragmatist, representative, I believe, of who we are as a people. Ernie was born January 8, 1933, on Munger Street, in a little brick house just north of the Middlebury town line in New Haven.
