Tigers Tackle Cosmos 22-14 in Monsoon and Mud

   The Tigers have had difficulty of late generating any kind of offense.  At Champlain Valley Union in their last outing, Middlebury was stopped cold by a well prepared squad led by an excellent quarterback and a defensive unit that will spell trouble for their opponents the rest of the way.  The Tigers played excellent defense, forcing turnovers and hitting hard in the traditional Tiger manner but they were unable to take advantage of the Red Hawk turnovers.  This week they took on a Division III opponent that also has had some trouble getting things going early this year. But lately Springfield has made some adjustments and they have paid off.

2009 Chamber Award Recipients

 The Addison County Chamber of Commerce awarded Monument Farms Dairy, located in Weybridge, Vermont, its Business of the Year award which was presented at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting held on September 10th.  Recipient for the Chamber’s Citizen of the Year award was also named at the dinner held at the Inn at Middlebury College’s Bread Loaf campus.

A Life Long Love Affair with Horses: Spending Time with Shannon Warden

    “I can remember sitting on a horse as young as the age of four.  I had my first riding lessons around the age of five.  One of the best lesson horses I rode was a huge chestnut who carried on in his stall to the point my father had to inquire if this was really the best horse for me to ride on.  He turned out to be a gentleman and began to build my confidence.” Equestrian and trainer Shannon Warden brings to life the love affair that bonds many youth to horses at a young age as exemplified by her words. For some it is a passing fancy and for others it begins a life long love affair that continues to grow, change and evolve with the passing of seasons.
