Tigers Tame Vikings 18-12 At Doc Collins Field

   After taking the measure of Springfield during a foul weather fest that saw Middlebury take advantage of excellent field position for almost the entire game, the Tigers moved on to Lyndon Institute a team that has proven to be pesky even when Middlebury was a force to recon with in Division 1.
   The win over Springfield was a big one for Middlebury no matter the Divisional differences between the two teams. In very challenging conditions, the Tigers seemed to come together as a team on both sides of the ball.  They got the job done against a team that threatened to make a come-back till the final seconds ticked off.  This week it would be no different.  A Division II showdown with Lyndon Institute is always an interesting match up.

Sharing a Passion for Teaching: 35 Years And Going Strong

   Over 3,500 students who have passed through Pamela Taylor's room and classes at VUHS since 1974 have experienced her passion for teens and history. Groups have been escorted to Germany, Russia, Ukraine, France and Washington, D.C. If that were not enough, she has supervised and chaperoned more floats, dances, homecoming, basketball games, gymnastics competitions, school bus rides than most of us would care to count and is an example to her students of the importance of learning by earning a second Master’s degree in 2005 and continuing to be a learner. In the midst of all that, there is no intention to slow down or think about stopping. Pamela Taylor is on a mission and still loving to share her passion for the past with the next generation coming in to the halls of VUHS.

Community Service Learning Days Branches Out To New Vistas

   It probably looked liked an emergency evacuation or drill to the casual observer or passerby,  but to the hundreds of teens who were in motion early in the mornings of October 6,7 and 8 from Vergennes Union High School they had not only a destination but a mission. Lee Shorey, adult coordinator and senior class assistant Morgan Denton contributed hundreds of hours to create and implement a schedule in which over 400 students are placed in five towns, colleges across the region, and also included coordinating the senior class walk to raise funds for programs and research in Diabetes honoring Taylor Vigne. While four hundred leave the building, over two hundred and fifty settle in classrooms to test on state and national levels, providing their best efforts  to showcase their own talents and their school with the results.
