Tigers Fend Off Fierce Otters Comeback Bid in OT 20-14 By Mike Cameron It had all the pre-press going in that you would expect in a key play-off encounter. Two hard working teams, two excellent coaching staffs, great fan and community support and some quality kids suiting-up for possibly the final time at their respective high schools. It was Otter Valley Union High and Middlebury Union High teeing up the pig skin in a big Division II show down at Doc Collins Field under Friday night lights October 30th, 2009.

They are a solid people, both in their convictions and their work habits. They are resourceful, devoted and fiercely independent. Most have had marriages that have lasted sixty or more years and possess a wit that cuts past all the jargon to the heart of the matter. Lastly, they all seem to be amazed that people want to learn more about them, because to them they were just living their lives. Spending time with that generation is a lesson in many things, but work, family and faith are three that collectively ring true in each experience and interview. [ more ] Middlebury Volunteer Ambulance Association Groundbreaking By Mike Cameron On Thursday evening October 29th the official groundbreaking ceremony took place for the new state of the art MVAA facility to be built on Collins Avenue in Middlebury. The new MVAA building was designed by Bread Loaf Corporation and will feature a two-story structure that houses trucks and equipment on the first floor and staff living quarters on the second floor. All vehicles will be kept in one building, rather than in multiple buildings as they are now housed. The new building will include a training room which will also be available for community events. The facility is scheduled to open in June of 2010.
