Tiger’s Playoff Bound Trim O.V. 41-14 Now 9-0 By Mike Cameron M.U.H.S. Varsity Football punched its ticket to the V.P.A. Division 2 post season playoffs after a convincing win over scrappy Otter Valley Union High in Brandon on Saturday afternoon October 30th 2010. The undermanned Otters were without the services of their best athlete, Tri-Captain Peter Bautista who was on the sidelines with an ankle filled with orthopedic hardware. Even with his considerable skills missing from the line up, the Otters were bound and determined to give the Tigers all they wanted. [ more ] Cross Street Bridge Now Open The long awaited Cross Street Bridge opened with plenty of fun fare, political candidates and public officials. A spectacular fireworks show was watched by hundreds as the rain held off, as if on-cue. The bridge is officially opened as of October 30th, 2010. [ more ] Middlebury McDonalds Now Open By Mike Cameron Vermont Governor Jim Douglas was in his hometown on Thursday afternoon October 28th, 2010, for the Grand Re-opening of the new, state-of-the-art, McDonalds restaurant on Rt. 7 south of the village. In his remarks the Governor mentioned the importance of the 50 new jobs created by the business and that the new store would be a welcome addition to the Middlebury community.
