Middlebury Wins Defensive Battle against Colchester 14-0

There was very little offensive production from both the Lakers and the Tigers this past Friday up in Colchester as it was not until late in the fourth quarter that any points were put up on the board.  Colchester was close to score a couple of times in the first half, but to no avail.  At the half neither team broke 100 yards rushing, while Tyler Provencher completed 5 of his eleven passing attempts.  [ more ]

   When Mary Murphy was nine or ten years old, she discovered the difference between wanting to be a writer and actually becoming one. An avid reader for her age, Mary had just completed reading one of Jane Abbot’s series of books for young girls, when she sat down with lined paper and began her future profession with ease. Mary edited the weak and sad ending of the novel and created a new ending that popped off the page bringing characters to life. A life long passion for words was born and Mary had begun a journey that would take her writing and editing skills to radio stations, television stations, magazines and cities and across the country and world.

Laughter Smiles And Wisdom The 14th Dalai Lama Again Finds Receptive Audience

     Though Tenzin Gyatso has declared that he will no longer lead Tibet’s government-in-exile, the 77-year-old sage known to the world as the 14th Dalai Lama still commands attention as a spiritual leader.
       Standing ovations began and ended his presentation to a Middlebury College audience in 2,800-seat Nelson Arena on Oct. 12. There was also elighted laughter, as the Dalai Lama’s showed his ready sense of humor.  [ more ]
