A Successful Vergennes Holiday Stroll

    The Vergennes Chamber of Commerce, a division of the Addison County Chamber of Commerce, wishes to say thank you to all who helped to make Vergennes Holiday Stroll a success:  Addison County Gospel Choir, Beth Crosby of the Addison County Chamber of Commerce, Bixby Memorial Library, Boys & Girls Club of Greater, Champlain Valley Christian School, City of Vergennes, Clock Shop, Deirdre Counter Real Estate, Gaines Insurance, Jackman Fuels, Jon Gailmor, Kinney Drugs, Landmark Financial, Lions Club, Maiden Vermont, Northlands Job Corps, Park Squeeze, S T Griswold & Co., Tim Buskey of Vergennes Residential Care Home, Vergennes Area Merchants, Vergennes Area Rescue Squad, Vergennes Opera House, VUHS Cheerleaders, Vergennes Community Forum, VUHS Friends of Music, and VUHS music students.
    As you can see this was truly a community effort!  The merchants had their store windows decorated with holiday trimmings.  The Boys & Girls Club acted as Santa's elves and wrapped over 100 gifts to place in Santa's BIG green bag.   Elves handed each of Santa's little visitors one of these gifts and had their picture taken by Beth Crosby.  The proceeds derived from the sale of these pictures benefited Toys for Tots! Vergennes Kinney Drugs sponsored the picture developing and have them ready for parents to pick up!  [ more ]

Cornwall Maple Hill Country Store

    In pursuit to find the perfect Christmas tree, you just may happen upon the Iocco family and their budding business in Cornwall, The Maple Hill Country Store.  Here, you can find and order local Christmas trees, wreaths and garland from the Sinclair farm in Ripton.  The family store also carries other locally made soaps, hand painted gift items, signs, wood ware, quilts and paintings.  Presently, Valerie and Gordon Iocco and three of their four sons all partake in the family business, and each offer a unique talent that makes their store a unique find and worthy of being found.

ACCC Business of the Month

  Darcy Tarte, Chair of the Addison County Chamber of Commerce's Publicity and Promotions Committee is pleased to announce that the December 2006 Business of the Month award recipient is Redstone.
   Redstone was established by Doug Nedde and Larry Williams in the early 1990's as a commercial real estate company, which has grown rapidly in its 14 year history providing a wide range of services including brokerage of properties for sale and lease, development, site selection, construction, property management and other advisory services. Their main office, which employs just under 20 people, is located in Burlington, and their business activities are concentrated in Chittenden, Addison and Franklin counties, markets whose demographics, economic conditions, development trends and regulatory environment are most familiar to them. The firm's portfolio includes several projects in Middlebury, in particular the development of Battel Hill Town Homes on Seminary Street, Catamount Office Park on Exchange Street, and most notably the Marble Works Residences, a 30 unit condominium complex presently under construction in the Marble Works Historic District.
