Pratt Family Store Celebrates 45 Years Members of the Pratt family pause for a quick photo during their store Open House and mini-Town Business Expo in Bridport on Saturday, May 17th 2014. The day long event saw a break in the overnight rain and perfect weather for Pratt's and a variety of local home grown businesses. All were on hand to display their products, skills and celebrate Pratt's 45th Anniversary. [ more ] Students Show Remembrance And Respect Showing their respect, gratitude and recognition that there are many ways to serve, VUHS US History students joined in with American Legion Ladies Auxiliary # 14, Sons of American Legion Squadron# 14, Local Boy Scout Troops, and other individuals to perform the annual ritual of replacing the flags on the graves of those who served in the Armed Forces. [ more ] Veterans Never To Be Forgotten Memorial Day Perspectives From Those Who Served By Cookie Steponaitis It is a mixture of solemnity and celebration when the state of Vermont descends on Vergennes for the Memorial Day Parade. The town population swells to 10,000 and the streets are literally lined with people of all ages three and four bodies deep in the Little City for the festivities. Bands play, floats go by, streamers and flags fly and speakers in the park commemorate the events that have marked this day as one of freedom and solemn remembrance. [ more ]
