[ more ] ANWSU Technology Director Receives Frank Watson Outstanding Technology Educator Award By Cookie Steponaitis ANWSU Technology Director Bob Owens attended the VITA-LEARN Vermont Conference and was quite surprised to find himself the eleventh recipient of the Frank Watson Outstanding Technology Award. The award was created in honor of Frank Watson and honors a person who has many years of devoted service, vision and leadership and has significantly advanced technology at the local, regional and state level. The South All Stars led by two of the most successful passing tandems in Vermont this year led the way. Division 1 Champion Rutland Quarterback Andrew Kenosh and his top aerial targets Cam Slade and Austin O'Gorman along with rugged running back Cleb White waerone unit. Another equally devastating unit consisted of Fair Haven's smooth operating quarterback Ryan Alexander and wide out Lucas Czarnecki bolstered in the backfield by Otter Valley running back Carson Leary and Middlebury's Jerry Niemo. As South Coach and Fair Haven Slater Mentor Brian Grady commented when asked about all the weapons at his disposal; “We used Andy and the people he was used to playing with all year and we did the same with Ryan, with the addition of Carson Palmer from OV at running back and it worked out well.” [ more ] African Journey Sparks The Imagination By Cookie Steponaitis When Ferrisburgh resident Nathan North first started his college career as an engineering major at Clarkson University, he and roommate Eric Slaugh hatched a crazy idea. The pair decided that upon graduation with their Bachelor’s degrees they would select a place in the world to hike that would allow them a rich cultural experience, landscapes beyond belief, animals and a corner of the world they had not explored.
