Sharing Memories Generations On The Land The Payne Farm In Cornwall By Stephen R. Payne The Payne farm was located on the northern edge of Cornwall, at the corner of Snake Mountain Road and Vermont Route 125. Five generations of Paynes lived here; but the later generations are also descended from families who have been in Cornwall for 8 and 9 generations – Footes, Binghams, Blodgetts, Gales and Danas among others. [ more ] Tubby Treasures Emporium Opens It’s Doors By Cookie Steponaitis Millie Whitcomb grew up in Williston, Vermont and remembers a weekend treat of shopping with her aunt with her hard earned $3.00 allowance at a host of wonderfully quirky and unique stores on Church Street and the Champlain Mill. Whitcomb can close her eyes and still see the symphony of color, textures, shapes and often whimsical layouts of these gift shops where she spent hours picking out her prizes. Stickers were often a prized trophy for a child of the 1980’s as were small models, necklaces and gifts for family and friends. These weekend ventures were part of a carefree and special time in Whitcomb’s life and time with family. [ more ] National FFA Week 2016 The FFA (formally Future Farmers of America) is a national organization founded by a group of young farmers back in 1928. The FFA helps young people develop career, leadership and life skills through agricultural education. Today agriculture is more than planting and harvesting-- it's a science, it's a business and it's an art. [ more ]
