Local Resident Celebrates The Lessons Learned On The Farm New Haven resident Cathy Palmer wants the young people of Addison County to know a little about the adventures, work, and fun of life on a small Vermont farm from over fifty years ago before agribusiness, computers and paved roads. Cathy Palmer grew up with seven siblings on a farm in Panton and her book is a memoir written for young readers and illustrated with her own cover art and line drawings. The story is set in 1963 and focuses on the experiences of raising an orphan crow on their farm. [ more ] Vergennes Rotary’s Efforts Impact The Community By Cookie Steponaitis The Vergennes Rotary Mavericks have just completed another successful year of charitable donations, service projects and programs aimed at improving the quality of life both at home and around the world. Exemplifying their motto ‘Service Above Self’ the group provided $20,000 worth of monetary contributions and many hours of community service to impact children, the elderly, teens and the community. [ more ] VUHS Wrestler Earns Recognition In National Wrestling Magazine By Cookie Steponaitis The VUHS wrestling community knows that Brandon Cousino had a banner junior year. In one year he went undefeated and was the only Vermont Wrestler to do so. He won every Varsity tournament except for the New England Championships. He was voted as one of the candidates by the referees as sportsmanship award at this year’s state tournament. He was the 5th Vergennes Commodore to win a State Championship since 2007, and was the third Commodore Wrestler to become an All- New England since 2013. [ more ]
