Holiday Crafters Make Shopping A Pleasure By Cookie Steponaitis There was a time in America’s past when handmade gifts were not only the norm but tradition. Crafted into each stitch, nail or angle was the talent and efforts of the crafter and the plan to create a one of a kind masterpiece. Fast forward to 2016 and the world of electronic shopping and it would seem that Made in Vermont or handmade would be hard to find. Not so in the Champlain Valley. At the Mount Abraham Craft Fair and dozens of others across the state this month local artists and craftspeople bring back a joy to shopping and new meaning to the beauty and quality of Made in Vermont.
[ more ] Grease Is The Word By Cookie Steponaitis It is a daunting task to take on a musical that is considered one of the most loved and known in American history, but that is exactly what the cast and crew of Grease did at VUHS on November 17, 18 and 19th. Forty actors and actresses, director Bill Carmichael Walsh, Choreographer Susan Burk Walsh, Producer/Conductor Susan O’Daniel and Vocal Director Liana Fitt took a packed house on a journey to Rydell High with a memorable cast led by Danny Zuko (Max Ratti- Bicknell) and Sandy (Caitlin Walsh). [ more ] Just In Time For Christmas It’s The Awesome Shop By Cookie Steponaitis People strolling through University Mall in Burlington are in for a treat. Located just across from Victoria’s Secret is a new store front with some familiar faces and some incredible unique gifts. The Awesome Shop has opened up in the University Mall and features the talents of Addison County artist Jackie Rivers and Sean and Jana Avram. Anything you can dream up they can air-brush, paint, illustrate or decorate.
