[ more ] Meet Bristol Legion Post Commander Ron LaRose By Cookie Steponaitis Ron LaRose enters Bristol Post #19 full tilt with a smile, firm handshake, purposeful stride and the same commitment he has shown in all phases of his life. A member of the U.S. Army and Army National Guard from 1966-2005, LaRose achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and along the way learned lessons about being adaptive, resolute and organized. “In short,” Lieutenant Colonel LaRose remarked, “the military trains you and teaches you to become a trainer.” [ more ] Local Senior Receives Honor By Cookie Steponaitis When most people reach their ninety-year mark or beyond there is a great deal of celebrating and slowing down. One of our many Addison County super seniors completely disregarded the slowing down part of that memo. New Haven senior Rita Charlebois continues in her nineties to be involved in the community, active in her church, taking care of her own home and even finding time to help out others through sharing her story.
