Retirement Party Brings Together Four Generations Of Educators And Students

 If you were a student at VUHS during 1965-2017 and wanted to connect with some of your past teachers, this past Thursday would have been a good day to do so at American Legion Post #14. The retirement party was for Pamela Taylor (VUHS Staff 1974-2017) and Cookie Steponaitis (VUHS Staff 1984-2016), but the one hundred or so who showed up included faculty from 1965 on and students from every decade since.  [ more ]

34th Annual Vergennes Junior Fishing Derby Makes Memories For Hundreds

Fishing was the name of the game this past weekend and Vergennes was the epicenter of magical moments. The 34th Annual Vergennes Junior Fishing Derby achieved its goals of bringing families together to fish and teaching the next generation to fish and then some. From 5 am-9pm on both Friday, June 23rd and Friday, June 24th hundreds came and did just that. Featuring lots of activities, events and even a Karaoke Dance Party, people came to eat, fish and learn. Let’s Go Fishing workshops, Make Your Own Lure, Freshwater Fishing Games, Free BBQ, and much more special events added to an event already festive.
