Construction Students Build on Technology

    Students in the Construction Technology program at the Patricia A. Hannaford Career Center in Middlebury have moved out their first finished modular home project and begun work on the new one!  The classic cape with timber framed trusses to support the second floor roof, was purchased by a Bridport couple and relocated with tractor trailers and cranes supplied by Brown's in Bristol, to their lot on Route 125 during the first week of school.  Now that the home is settled on its foundation, several local contractors are wrapping up the finishing touches with the assistance of the students.

The Sound Of Music Performs At VUHS

  The VUHS Music Department kept up their tradition of amazing preformances with The Sound of Music playing November 8, 9 & 10th to sold out houses each night!
  The cast & crew truly made the hills come alive with the sound of music! Congratulations to all.

Youth Day Success

   8-year old Alexandra Brace the daughter of Scott and Lisa Brace of Ferrisburgh was able to bag her first deer during Youth Day 2007.  She also hunts geese with her Dad who was with her during the deer hunt.  Alexandra loves the outdoors and is happy that she comes from a hunting family.  Before entering the sport she passed a hunter safety course.  Alexandra is part of a new generation of Vermonters who are taking advantage of the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife youth hunting and fishing programs. She scored 98 on the hunter safety test. Congratulations Alexandra.

A.R.T. Performance Wraps Up Nine School Tour!

   The Addison Repertory Theater class at the Patricia A. Hannaford Career Center recently wrapped up their nine school tour with their annual Children's Show.  This year's production included adaptations from children's book favorites such as “The Whale's Song”, “Milk Rock”, and ever popular; “Runaway Bunny.”
   Visiting a different elementary school every day from one end of Addison County to the other would prove challenging to even the most seasoned performer.  The difference in space, audience size, mood, lighting, and temperature provided varied and effective learning for the student actors.
